The historical drama “Prince Andrei” has been highly anticipated, earning the top spot in the “Most Anticipated Series” nomination at the “Pilot” series festival, with the premiere expected before the end of the year on Russia 1 channel, Kinopoisk, and the Smotrim media platform.

The series delves into the 12th-century era of Ancient Rus’, depicting the story of Andrei Bogolyubsky’s return from Byzantium and his efforts to establish a new center of Rus’ in Suzdal, a plan that faces challenges from his father, Yuri Dolgoruky, the boyars, and political intrigues.

The cast features Alexander Baluev as Yuri Dolgoruky, portraying the historical figure in a more relatable way, and Alexander Golubev as Prince Andrei, who has faced some criticism regarding his resemblance to the historical character.

Sergei Bezrukov takes on the role of the boyar Kuchko, a negative character with historical ties to Yuri Dolgoruky.

Aglaya Shilovskaya plays Ulita, Andrei’s first wife, and the series will explore the love line between the two, potentially adding a romantic and tender dimension to the historical narrative.
