Power Outage in Russian Regions Following Ukrainian Strike

A Ukrainian Armed Forces strike on a substation has caused power outages in parts of the Kursk region of Russia. Acting Governor Alexander Khinshtein reported the incident on June 8, stating that the 110 kV “Rylsk” substation was hit.

As a result of the attack, the Rylsky district, along with portions of the Glushkovsky and Korenevsky districts, are experiencing electricity disruptions. Restoration of power will commence when the operational situation permits, according to the acting head of the region.

Separately, Vyacheslav Gladkov, the Governor of the Belgorod Region, reported that Ukrainian forces conducted two drone strikes on a store parking lot in the village of Nikolsky.

Five individuals were injured in the drone strikes. While three received on-site medical assistance, the remaining two were hospitalized in Belgorod for further treatment.
