SKA Hockey Club has announced significant personnel changes following a Board of Directors meeting held on May 30th. The shakeup comes in response to the team’s disappointing performance in the past two seasons, where they were eliminated in the second and first rounds of the playoffs, respectively.
The current composition of the Board of Directors and operational management has resigned due to the unsatisfactory results. The club’s press service confirmed that the work of the leadership, coaching staff, and management was deemed subpar.
Alexander Medvedev has stepped down from his role as chairman of the board of directors. Replacing him is Vitaly Markelov, the Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of PJSC Gazprom.
Nikita Stenichkin has been appointed as the new General Director of SKA Hockey Club.
The announcement did not address the future of the team’s head coach, Roman Rotenberg.
