Pepper Spray Incident Reported at Yekaterinburg Migration Center

An investigation is underway after pepper spray was used near a migration center in Yekaterinburg, causing discomfort to people waiting in line.

People in the queue were seen coughing and covering their faces as a result of the spray. Eyewitnesses recorded the incident, capturing the scene as people were advised to move away from the area.

Valery Gorelykh, head of the press service of the regional headquarters of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, stated that representatives from the patrol service regiment leadership have been dispatched to the migration center to investigate the situation and identify the responsible party.

Gorelykh emphasized that if it is determined that a law enforcement officer unreasonably used a special tool, disciplinary action will be taken.

This incident follows the recent relocation of the Yekaterinburg migration center, which had previously been criticized for long queues, to a new location on Kislorodnaya Street.

Furthermore, there have been increasing reports of individuals being expelled from Russia due to minor documentation errors in the Sverdlovsk region. One such case involved Vladimir Melnik, a native of Kazakhstan, who was deported for failing to have his fingerprints taken in a timely manner. Public figures intervened to assist him in returning home.
