The St. Petersburg Committee for the Development of Transport Infrastructure announced that the repair of paving slabs on a problematic section of the 6th-7th lines of Vasilievsky Island will be considered after Teploset finishes its work and restores the area.
The statement follows public attention to the deformation of slabs and steps near Teploset’s work zone close to St. Andrew’s Cathedral, where the company began replacing communications at the end of May. The replacement work is slated to continue until the end of 2026, with landscaping to be completed during the same timeframe.
Teploset asserts that the slab deformation is unrelated to the ongoing communications replacement. Their assessment is based on comparing historical panoramas of the affected areas. Slabs within the immediate network repair zone have been temporarily removed for reinstatement later. Wooden decking was used to cover the sidewalk on Andreevsky Boulevard, where equipment is moving around. Restoration will occur within the confines of the fenced-off repair area.
The Committee for Improvement has already submitted a statement of defects regarding the sidewalk on the 6th-7th lines of Vasilievsky Island to the Committee for the Development of Transport Infrastructure for potential inclusion in a road repair program. The KRTI clarified that sidewalk repair will only be considered after the heating network reconstruction is complete and the disturbed area is restored.
