Nearly 20 people were left stranded on the “Air Express” ride at Moscow’s “Dream Island” amusement park on Monday after a technical malfunction caused it to stop mid-operation. The incident occurred at a height of approximately 10 meters, leaving visitors suspended for about half an hour.
Park officials confirmed the technical stop, stating that the ride’s safety systems activated as designed. According to the “Dream Island” press service, park employees responded quickly to inform the passengers and initiate the park’s emergency protocols.
Specialized park lifts were dispatched to the ride to safely evacuate the stranded individuals. Initial reports indicated that 17 people, including five children, were on board the “Air Express” when the malfunction occurred.
Emergency services personnel were also on the scene to assist with the rescue efforts. The situation was resolved without any reported injuries, and all passengers were safely brought back to the ground. The amusement park is currently investigating the cause of the technical issue to prevent similar incidents in the future.
