Over one hundred intoxicated drivers were apprehended in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region this past weekend, with some facing criminal charges for repeat offenses.
From May 30th to June 1st, traffic police conducted sobriety checks across the city and region’s highways. The operation resulted in over a hundred drivers being caught driving under the influence. These individuals now face administrative penalties.
More than 90 drivers refused to undergo medical examinations and were also issued protocols. All drivers involved have been suspended from operating vehicles.
Ten repeat offenders are facing criminal charges due to their repeated drunk driving offenses.
