The number of people injured in the Bryansk region bridge explosion has risen to 97, with 7 fatalities confirmed. The incident occurred on the night of June 1st when a road bridge collapsed onto a passenger train traveling the Klimov – Moscow route.
As of Monday morning, 64 individuals remain hospitalized, including four children.
The collapse, which authorities have stated was caused by an explosion, resulted in the derailment of several train carriages.
Among the deceased is Violetta Gorynya, a doctor from the “House with a Lighthouse” children’s hospice.
In related news, also occurring on the night of June 1st, a freight train derailed in the Zheleznogorsk district of the Kursk region, leading to a fire in the locomotive.
