A 39-year-old woman from Novosibirsk is facing trial for allegedly mistreating her six children. The Investigative Committee of the Novosibirsk Region has concluded its investigation into the case, charging the woman under Article 156 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation for failing to fulfill her parental duties.

The investigation revealed that between July 2018 and May 2025, the mother neglected the upbringing of her children and employed cruel disciplinary methods. Authorities discovered that the children had sustained multiple injuries, suffered from inadequate nutrition, and were deprived of necessary medical attention.

According to the Investigative Committee, the woman’s actions posed a threat to the children’s health and hindered their mental and physical development.

The prosecutor’s office of the Novosibirsk Region has announced that the Pervomaisky District Court will preside over the criminal case.

This case follows a recent verdict in the region where Veronika Naumova was sentenced to 24 years in prison on July 28 for the death of a 6-year-old boy.
