Novosibirsk to construct new bus station and transport hub at Petukhova and Khilokskaya streets

A new bus station and transport hub are planned for construction in Novosibirsk at the intersection of Petukhova and Khilokskaya streets, according to the Novosibirsk Mayor’s Office. The project, outlined in a new planning document published on the city hall’s website, aims to enhance the city’s transport infrastructure.

The initiative aligns with the city’s General Plan’s transport section and the program for integrated transport infrastructure development from 2018 to 2030, which emphasizes creating a network of peripheral bus stations and terminals. This network is intended to complement the future development of bypasses and highways.

The planned bus station in the Kirovsky district, near Petukhova Street, will serve as a transport hub connecting tram routes and other public transportation options. The city envisions the “Western” transport hub, including the bus station, near Khilokskaya Street.

Currently, the design phase for the bus station has not commenced, and the implementation timeline depends on securing budget funding. The city intends to first establish the transport hub before proceeding with the design and construction of the “Western” bus station.

A recently developed planning project for the area bordered by Khilokskaya, Petukhova, Borodina streets, and the city boundary in the Kirovsky district reveals plans for developing this remote location, including the construction of multi-story buildings near the ring road.
