A new school for 825 students is slated to be built near the Oktyabrskaya metro station in Novosibirsk by 2028. The Novosibirsk mayor’s office announced the project, which is part of a larger effort to improve the social infrastructure of the area.

The school will be located on Yakushev Street within the area bordered by Ippodromskaya, Leskova, Borisa Bogatkova, Kirova, Voskhod streets, the Oktyabrsky bridge, and the Ob River shoreline.

In preparation for the construction, the land commission recently approved the acquisition of private homes and garages within the block bounded by Zyryanovskaya, Makovsky, Dekabristov, and Sakko and Vanzetti streets. This acquisition is necessary to clear the land for the new school.

Additionally, the mayor’s office has announced plans to redevelop a significant area of private homes on Kirova Street, with the project expected to begin no sooner than next year. This redevelopment is separate from the school construction but contributes to the overall urban renewal efforts in the district.
