A Novosibirsk resident’s Toyota Cresta has been seized by bailiffs due to a child support debt exceeding 538,000 rubles. The Main Directorate of the Federal Bailiff Service for the region confirmed this action.
The 53-year-old man has not been paying child support for his 9-year-old son and does not communicate with the child. While funds were previously withheld from his salary when he was officially employed, he has been earning unofficially in metalworking for the past two years.
Bailiffs discovered the man owned a Toyota Cresta and demanded he surrender the vehicle to reduce his debt. He ignored the demand and disappeared with the car, leading to both him and the car being placed on a wanted list.
After a search lasting several months, bailiffs located the debtor and his Toyota Cresta in the courtyard of a dormitory in the Kalininsky district. He passively complied with the arrest, removing his personal belongings from the car. An administrative offense report was also filed against him for non-payment of alimony.
If the debt is not paid in full soon, the car will be auctioned. Furthermore, the debtor will face penalties determined by the court, which may include mandatory work for up to 150 hours, administrative arrest, or a fine for non-payment of alimony.
