A 16-year-old boy died on the railway tracks at the Nizhnyaya Yeltsovka station in Novosibirsk under circumstances his mother finds suspicious. Ekaterina, the mother of Alexey Nagaytsev, is questioning the official version of events and seeking witnesses to clarify what happened on June 24th.
The official account states that Alexey was struck by an oncoming train while crossing the tracks behind a stationary train. However, Ekaterina notes inconsistencies, including the limited extent of her son’s injuries and the lack of surveillance footage. Railway workers reportedly expressed surprise at the expert’s conclusion about the nature of the injuries, suggesting they should have been more severe.
Alexey had traveled to Nizhnyaya Yeltsovka by train to attend his girlfriend’s last bell ceremony. The incident occurred around 9:15-9:20 am, shortly after his arrival. A witness, Oksana, who was on the same train as Alexey, recalls a loud oncoming train but no sounds of emergency braking or screams.
Alexey’s funeral was held on May 26th, with a large turnout of friends, teachers, and family. He was remembered as a cheerful, helpful, and caring young man with plans for the future, including working, snowboarding, and potentially studying IT.
The Railways and the Department of Transport of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have not provided detailed comments. The Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Novosibirsk Region is investigating the incident. Ekaterina is appealing to anyone who witnessed the event to come forward with information.
