A resident of Novosibirsk is in distress after the Russian Post allegedly lost her wedding dress, which was scheduled to arrive from China ahead of her wedding on June 27. The postal service is currently investigating the incident.
Alena, the bride-to-be, had the dress custom-made according to her measurements and sketches by a factory in China that she says regularly supplies items for events in Novosibirsk. She was provided with a tracking number and monitored the package’s progress daily until May 19, when updates ceased. The last recorded location was a sorting center in Ob.
Alena contacted the Russian Post’s hotline but received automated responses. She was eventually able to submit a search application online and in person, but was informed that it could take up to 30 days to process.
With her wedding fast approaching, Alena is concerned that she will need to purchase a new dress if the original does not arrive in time. Despite this setback, she intends to pursue compensation for the lost garment. She has confirmed with the supplier in China that the dress was indeed shipped.
According to Alena, the sorting point indicated that the dress was included in a general package, but it never reached the Novosibirsk department. She says that the postal worker showed her documentation indicating the dress was enclosed in a package for sending, but it appears that the package never arrived in Novosibirsk.
The press service of the Russian Post has stated that they are conducting a thorough investigation into the matter. They expressed regret for the delayed delivery and apologized to Alena for the inconvenience.
In a separate incident in Novosibirsk, a woman named Evgenia was targeted by scammers posing as postal workers who requested a code sent to her phone.
