A model from Novosibirsk is suing a beauty salon after allegedly suffering burns during a laser hair removal procedure. Kristina B. claims that the incident occurred on April 20, 2025, at the ProfLaser salon, resulting in blisters and scars on her legs.
Kristina alleges that she experienced severe pain during the procedure on her bikini area and legs, but the technician dismissed her concerns, stating it was normal for the device. She claims she requested a lower power setting but was refused.
The salon acknowledges that the technician was at fault and has since been fired. However, they suggest that Kristina may have exacerbated the condition of her skin and accuse her of “naked consumer terrorism,” claiming she may have tanned or used Photoshop on photos of the burns.
Kristina is seeking 300,000 rubles in compensation for medical expenses, lost income from missed photoshoots, and moral damages. She claims the dermatologist warned her that the burns might not heal completely.
The salon initially offered 30,000 rubles but included a receipt with a clause imposing a fine of one million rubles if Kristina disclosed information about the incident. She refused to sign the agreement.
The salon manager, Nadezhda, stated that Kristina’s legs were very dry and that the dermatologist initially diagnosed contact dermatitis. She also claims that Kristina postponed the visit to the doctor for three days, and the salon is unsure what Kristina did with her skin during this period.
A forensic medical examination could not definitively determine when the injuries occurred, but did not exclude the possibility of them happening during the laser hair removal.
