A woman who disappeared from a St. Petersburg hospital nine years ago has been found, revealing she ran away due to family issues and not wanting an operation. The girl, who was 16 at the time, left the hospital in December 2016, where she was scheduled for a planned surgery.
The Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee for the city reported that the girl’s mother contacted the police in late December 2016, stating that her daughter had left the children’s hospital on December 25, 2016, after being hospitalized for a planned operation. Before disappearing, the girl deleted her social media, left all her belongings at the hospital, took a jacket from her roommate, and left.
Investigators learned that the girl had argued with her family before her disappearance because they had not wished her a happy birthday. She was eventually found nine years later through the use of surveillance cameras.
The woman explained that she ran away from the hospital due to family problems and because she did not want the surgery. Initially, she stayed with a friend, then moved to another city with a man, with whom she secretly had two children.
