A new restaurant is slated to open on the Iset River embankment in Yekaterinburg in 2026, transforming the current garbage-strewn area. In the interim, the “Atmofest” festival will take place from August 15 to 25, offering a revitalized space for the community.
In preparation for the restaurant’s construction, this year’s festival will feature a food court highlighting Ural cuisine, including themed dishes like sorrel soup developed specifically for “Atmofest.” The director of the festival, Yulia Sorokina, stated that the festival will include layers of art, sports, and food, addressing the lack of dining options from the previous year due to space limitations on the embankment.
Adding to the site’s appeal, a boat station opened on June 5 and will remain open throughout the summer, adjacent to the festival grounds. Sorokina mentioned the significant monthly cost of 300 thousand rubles to maintain the Atmofest site and the additional expenses for repairing vandalism damage.
The festival will feature expositions from the Museum of the Underground and the Hermitage Ural, and a vibrant graffiti mural will adorn the wall of the building at Grazhdanskaya, 11. The Iset’s rocky bank will be covered in vines, and a sandy beach will be created, providing an enhanced atmosphere for stand-up comedy and musical performances. The opening of the boat station preceded the E1 SUP FEST by one month, offering a chance for visitors to practice paddleboarding.
Additionally, the upcoming “Night of Music” event in the Urals will showcase both emerging and established artists, including Niletto, rappers AK-47, Bashkir stars AY YOLA, and Vyacheslav Malezhik.
