Residents of the Volzhsky Park residential complex in southeastern Moscow will soon have improved access to transportation infrastructure with the construction of an elevated pedestrian crossing over the MCD-2. The new structure will connect the complex to nearby MCC and MCD-2 stations “Novokhokhlovskaya” and the “Tekstilshchiki” metro station, addressing long-standing accessibility issues.

The Moscow Department of Construction of Transport and Engineering Infrastructure announced the project, stating that the overpass will be located on Graivoronovskaya Street near house number 5. Currently in the design phase, the crossing aims to eliminate the need for residents to navigate embankments and railway tracks to reach essential transportation hubs.

Vasily Desyatkov, head of the department, emphasized the benefits for students and teachers of the Presidential Academy College, providing them with a safer and more convenient route. The overpass will also establish a pedestrian link between the Pechatniki and Tekstilshchiki districts.

The 85-meter-long structure will feature three staircases, elevators, and overhead ramps to ensure accessibility for all residents. It will extend from the residential building, across the MCD-2, to connect with the branch of the Presidential Academy, car centers, the Moskvich plant, and ultimately, the Tekstilshchiki metro station.
