A new “Lion Cub” tram model, manufactured in St. Petersburg, has been spotted on the Murmansk Highway in the Leningrad Region. The tram, produced by the Nevsky Electric Transport Plant, part of PK Transport Systems LLC, was captured on video by observers.

It is believed that the single-section “Lion Cub” tram is not intended for use in St. Petersburg itself.

Instead, the tram is expected to be shipped to Cherepovets, located in the Vologda region.

Cherepovets is anticipating the delivery of 12 modern, low-floor 71-911EM “Lion Cub” trams between August and October.

These trams are being manufactured at both the Nevsky Electric Transport Plant and the Tver Mechanical Plant of Electric Transport.
