A near-miss incident occurred in Cheboksary when brickwork fell from a multi-story building, narrowly missing a passerby. The incident took place in the courtyard of a building in the Vostochny settlement, where fragments of parapet brickwork fell from the 17th floor.

A woman managed to avoid injury by running under a canopy just before the bricks fell. However, several parked cars were damaged by the falling debris.

The Prosecutor’s Office of Chuvashia reported the incident on June 2nd and has launched an investigation to determine the circumstances and causes. They also published a video showing the aftermath of the collapse.

Authorities are initiating a survey of similar structures in the residential building with the help of specialists to prevent future incidents. Prosecution officers were dispatched to the scene to conduct an immediate inspection.
