Natalia Medvedeva, a star of TNT’s Comedy Woman, has transitioned from television stages to embracing motherhood and diverse comedic roles. In a recent interview, she shared insights into her life, career, and her connection to Novosibirsk.
Medvedeva noted the city’s constant construction and growth, associating it with rapid development. A warm memory she holds is giving birth to her first son in Novosibirsk.
While she enjoys her trips for work as a chance to recharge, she misses her children. Currently, she has three children, who are cared for by her husband, grandmothers, and a nanny when she’s away.
Describing herself as a strict, controlling mother, especially with her eldest son, Medvedeva balances discipline with understanding. She acknowledges the challenges of being an older sibling and ensures open communication within the family.
Medvedeva enjoys spending time with her daughter, forging a close bond, while her sons have grown closer to their father through sports and activities. This allows for a balance of parental involvement and individual interests.
When asked about her humorous side at home, Medvedeva says she wears different masks for family, friends, and colleagues. She views her profession as bringing smiles to people’s faces. She personally enjoys humorous videos of animals and pranks, often sharing laughter with her children.
Medvedeva doesn’t consider herself a comedian or stand-up comedian anymore, but rather a comedic actress and TV presenter. She no longer performs stand-up and prefers acting and hosting events. Currently, she is involved in various projects, including reality shows, movies, and TV series, and voicing a character in the children’s cartoon “Mi-mi-mishki”.
Having limitations due to family commitments and personal preferences, Medvedeva chooses projects carefully. She avoids roles involving nudity or explicit scenes, seeking roles that align with her values and allow her to balance work and family life. She appreciates roles that are written for her, such as Shurochka in the comedy series “Shurochka,” where she can showcase her energetic and lively personality.
Medvedeva emphasizes that she is not a professional actress, but rather a television personality and artist who knows how to joke. She prefers comedic roles over dramatic ones, feeling that comedy is often undervalued. She avoids violent films, preferring something fun, interesting, and inspiring.
Discussing her time on Comedy Woman, Medvedeva acknowledges it as her “school of life,” but doesn’t feel nostalgic. She explains that it was an incredibly demanding period that she wouldn’t want to return to. Leaving the show was necessary for her well-being, preventing potential health issues due to accumulated fatigue.
She advises individuals, no matter the profession, to be able to switch off at work and prioritize personal matters later.
Medvedeva believes competition exists everywhere, highlighting the importance of competing with oneself and embracing wisdom. She believes that female humor is just as valid as male humor, emphasizing the unique perspective and emotions that women bring to comedy.
