A 56-year-old man has been arrested in the village of Luga-3 after allegedly beating his 83-year-old mother to death during a domestic dispute. The incident occurred on the evening of May 30th in a communal apartment.

Police were called to the scene after a neighbor reported a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers found the suspect in the hallway and discovered the victim’s body in a room with signs of a violent death.

The argument between the man and his mother reportedly began around 7:10 PM. It is alleged that during a verbal altercation, the son inflicted multiple blows to the head and body of his mother.

The suspect has been placed in a temporary detention center. A criminal case has been opened by the Investigative Committee under Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (murder).

Authorities have revealed that the detainee has a significant criminal history. Over the past 40 years, he has been criminally prosecuted 10 times for offenses including theft, robbery, and drug crimes.
