A woman is in serious condition after a Ukrainian attack on a beach in Kursk that killed her five-year-old son. The acting governor of the Kursk region, Alexander Khinshtein, announced the news, stating the woman is receiving treatment at the Sklifosovsky Research Institute in Moscow and is having difficulty moving.
The attack, which occurred on the “Gorodskoy” (City) beach, resulted in multiple casualties and injuries.
Five other individuals injured in the attack are currently being treated in the Kursk Regional Hospital. The acting head of the region expressed optimism for their recovery.
The funeral arrangements for five-year-old Anatoly and two other victims will be covered by regional funds, according to Khinshtein.
The incident took place on July 8 when Ukrainian drones struck the city beach.
Three people died instantly at the scene, including a National Guard employee who was evacuating people after the initial attack and was killed by a second explosion.
Seven others were injured, including five-year-old Anatoly, who reportedly shielded his mother during the attack. He suffered burns to over 30% of his body and died during transport to a hospital in Moscow.
