A 15-year-old mother in Dubrovka, Leningrad Region, Russia, has been charged with the attempted murder of her newborn baby. The Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee for the Leningrad Region announced the charges on June 6.

The incident occurred on June 5, when the girl gave birth in her apartment. Following the birth, she allegedly placed the newborn in a bag and threw the baby out of the window of her first-floor apartment, located on Tomilina Street.

The investigation is pushing for the girl’s arrest.

Fortunately, the child was discovered in a timely manner and immediately transported to a medical facility for care.

Initial reports from law enforcement sources indicate that the girl may have been unaware of her pregnancy.
