The Serp and Molot transport hub (TPU) in Moscow, a project envisioned since 2008, is now slated for completion only by the end of 2026, marking another delay in its development. Initially proposed as a large exhibition center and hub, the project faced setbacks including disputes over land and changes in leadership.
Currently, construction is underway with workers installing escalators at the Ploshchad Ilyicha metro station exit, which is close to the future railway lobby. The area is being improved, and new platforms are being erected, although the old platforms are in a state of disrepair.
The construction is being carried out by “Epoch of Revival,” a company with experience in building transport hubs, including ZIL and Avtozavodskaya. The company’s revenue for 2024 reached 2.3 billion rubles, with a net profit of 2.2 million rubles. The company is owned by Karen Pogosyan and Igor Arutyunyan.
The updated TPU will include new railway tracks to connect Serp and Molot with the MCD-2 line. The project includes the construction of a ticket pavilion with turnstiles, elevators, and escalators.
