Several tram routes in Moscow will be temporarily altered or suspended due to planned track repairs and a race event. The Moscow Department of Transportation announced the changes, affecting services in the city center and eastern districts.
The section between Belorussky railway station and Kalanchevskaya street will be closed twice: from 10:00 PM on June 5 to 11:30 AM on June 6, and on June 8 until 1:30 PM. During these closures, tram route #9 will be suspended entirely. Other routes will experience modifications. Tram #7 will run from “Bulvar Rokossovskogo” metro station to Kalanchevskaya street, and Tram #50 will operate from DK “Compressor” to Kalanchevskaya street. The Department of Transportation recommends utilizing bus routes as an alternative, specifically extending route m5 from “Dostoevskaya” metro station via Lesnaya street to Belorussky railway station, and running route c510 from Tikhvinskaya street to “Novoslobodskaya” metro station.
Additionally, tram service between the “Aviamotornaya” and “Shosse Entuziastov” metro stations will be disrupted starting Saturday, June 7. Trams will be rerouted around this affected area. Tram #2 will run from Kursky railway station to DK “Compressor” near the “Aviamotornaya” metro station. Tram #12 will operate from the “Vostochnoe Izmailovo” stop via Budyonny Avenue to MCD Novogireevo. Tram #37 will run from Kalanchevskaya street via the “Aviamotornaya”, “Ploschad Ilyicha”, “Proletarskaya” and “Dubrovka” metro stations to MCC “Ugreshskaya”. Passengers are advised to use buses t30, 125, t53, and the Kalininskaya metro line as alternatives.
The Department of Transportation stated that these changes are necessary due to tram track repairs on Shosse Entuziastov, and the major work is scheduled on weekends to minimize disruption. Weekday tram services will generally follow their usual routes. A significant repair project is planned for tram tracks across Moscow, including the junction at Shosse Entuziastov and Lesnaya street near Belorussky railway station. The city has allocated 5.6 billion rubles for these improvements. Repairs will also take place near the “Novoslobodskaya”, “Kolomenskaya”, and “Prospekt Mira” metro stations. A turning loop for trams is under construction on the square near Rizhsky railway station along Trifonovskaya street, near the second exit of the “Rizhskaya” metro station on the Big Circle Line.
