Moscow to Close Garden Ring Road and Change Bus Routes for Night Bike Festival

Moscow’s Garden Ring road and several adjacent streets will be closed this weekend, August 2nd and 3rd, due to the Moscow Night Bike Festival. The Moscow Mayor’s website announced the closures, which will also result in changes to bus routes.

Traffic restrictions will be in place during the festival. Parking will be prohibited from July 31st on Zubovskaya Street (from Dashkov Lane to Bolshaya Pirogovskaya) and Bolshaya Pirogovskaya Street (from Yelansky Street to Zubovskaya).

From 00:01 on August 1st to 17:00 on August 2nd, one lane in each direction will be closed on these sections. From 17:00 on August 2nd until the end of the festival, traffic will be completely blocked.

On Saturday, from 20:30 to 01:00 on Sunday, traffic will be restricted on the Garden Ring road and the section of Zubovskaya Street from Dashkov Lane to the Garden Ring. Access to Gorky Park will also be restricted from Krymsky Val Street, the Atrium shopping center and Kursky railway station, the Moscow Academic Satire Theater (from Bolshaya Sadovaya), the Smolensky Passage complex (from Smolenskaya Square), and the Paveletskaya Plaza shopping center.

Several public transportation routes will be altered. From 17:00 on Saturday, routes M6 and С755 will bypass along Komsomolsky Prospekt and Ostozhenka Street, with buses M6 temporarily not stopping at the Sportivnaya metro station.

From 19:00 on Saturday, route B will not operate, and buses M9 and No. 40 will not call at the Rizhsky Vokzal and Krasny Put Plant stops. From 20:00, buses No. 024 and 220 will also not run. Other bus routes, including M2, M3, No. 379, M40, С344, С369, С511, С633, С910, No. 78, 447, 538, 913 and 239, will also be changed or shortened. During the night of August 2nd to 3rd, night buses on routes Н3, Н9, Н10 and Н14 will not call at the Kitay-gorod metro station. Route Н8 in this direction will follow Pyatnitskaya Street, Bolshoy Moskvoretsky Bridge and Varvarka.

Drivers are advised to plan their routes in advance and account for the temporary restrictions.
