A man in Moscow was rescued from a storm sewer on June 8th after being pulled into a grate during a heavy downpour.

The Moscow Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that firefighters arrived at the scene and successfully freed the man from the storm grate. He was then handed over to ambulance personnel for examination.

The heavy rain and thunderstorms on Sunday caused significant flooding throughout the capital, including streets and even the terminal of Vnukovo Airport. The severe weather conditions led to some planes being diverted to alternate airfields.
