Major renovation projects are currently underway in two of Moscow’s most popular parks, VDNKh and Sokolniki, causing disruptions for visitors. The extensive work includes the replacement of asphalt and the installation of new tiles and curbs.
At VDNKh, the area in front of the main arch is completely dug up, affecting the Longitudinal, 1st, and 2nd Transverse passages. Construction is focused on replacing the asphalt and laying new tiles and curbs near the main arch. Similar improvements are planned near the Worker and Kolkhoz Woman pavilion.
In Sokolniki Park, the main alley has been closed since mid-May. The central part of the park resembles a construction site, with trenches and excavators visible. Access to the park is restricted, requiring visitors to take detours of approximately one and a half kilometers, entering from the Bogorodskoye Highway side. Walking along narrow paths alongside the construction fence is necessary to navigate the area.
Despite the construction, the Lilac Garden in Sokolniki remains open. Security personnel are available to guide visitors around the construction areas and provide directions to accessible parts of the park.
