Moscow Metro’s “Novye Cheryomushki” to “Oktyabrskaya” Section Will Not Be Closed in June

The planned closure of the Kaluzhsko-Rizhskaya metro line section between “Novye Cheryomushki” and “Oktyabrskaya” stations has been cancelled for June. This announcement brings relief to residents in the southwest of Moscow who rely on this route.

The Moscow Department of Transportation stated that the accelerated progress on the transfer construction from the “Akademicheskaya” station to the Troitskaya line made the closure unnecessary.

This section of the metro line has already been closed twice this year, once from March 1 to March 2, and again from May 31 to June 1. During those closures, free compensation buses were provided, serving over 113,000 passengers. Transport staff were also present at stations to assist commuters in finding alternative routes.

The “Akademicheskaya” station on the Troitskaya line is currently under construction and expected to open this year. Its entrance will be situated near the intersection of Dmitry Ulyanov and Profsoyuznaya streets.
