Moscow High-Speed Diameter Toll Increases

The cost of traveling on the Moscow High-Speed Diameter (MSD) has risen starting June 1st. The new fare structure is intended to alleviate traffic congestion during peak hours, according to Moscow authorities.

A single section of the MSD will now cost 7 rubles, up from the previous 5 rubles. With the MSD divided into nine sections, the maximum fare during peak hours will be 63 rubles.

These rates apply during the morning and evening rush hours, specifically from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM and from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Travel remains free outside of these peak times, including on weekdays, weekends, and holidays. The cost of transit passes will stay the same, at 950 rubles.

Tolls were first introduced on the MSD in February 2025, with charges applying only during peak hours. The MSD is divided into the following sections: Businovskaya interchange to Dmitrovskoe highway; Dmitrovskoe highway to Yaroslavskoe highway; Yaroslavskoe highway to Schelkovskoe highway; Schelkovskoe highway to Entuziastov highway; Entuziastov highway to Zeninskoe highway; Entuziastov highway to Volgogradsky Prospekt; Volgogradsky Prospekt to Kashirskoe highway; Kashirskoe highway to Podolskikh Kursantov street; and Podolskikh Kursantov street to Varshavskoe highway.

Concerns have previously been raised about incorrect billing and fines following the initial implementation of tolls. Furthermore, public transport fares in Moscow and the surrounding region increased on June 1, 2025.
