Moscow is bracing for thunderstorms and strong winds, with potential hail in some areas, between 7:00 AM and 9:00 PM today. The Ministry of Emergency Situations has issued a warning about the expected adverse weather conditions.

The weather may resemble conditions from the previous day, with brief showers, thunderstorms, and possible hail and squally winds. Squally winds are particularly dangerous and could lead to flooding.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations advises residents to park their vehicles in safe locations, avoid billboards and unstable structures, exercise caution while driving, and ensure children are supervised. The wind gusts could reach speeds of up to 17 m/s.

A brief downpour typically lasts about a quarter of the total forecast time. This means that out of the 14-hour window, approximately 3.5 hours could be affected by thunderstorms.

The previous day, Moscow and the surrounding region experienced heavy rainfall and strong winds, with reports of a man being pulled into a drain due to the torrential rains. Lightning struck in the Vykhino-Zhulebino district, and residents collected hail in the Moscow region. At Vnukovo Airport, the roof leaked due to the heavy rain, causing at least three planes to divert to alternate airfields.
