A mobilized soldier in the Sverdlovsk region has won a lawsuit against a bank after 1.7 million rubles disappeared from his savings account. The court ruled in favor of the soldier, ordering the bank to return the stolen funds and additional compensation.
The soldier, a participant in the Special Military Operation (SVO), discovered that a significant portion of his 3 million ruble deposit had been transferred to seven virtual cards and withdrawn in various cities across the country. He filed a lawsuit against the bank to recover the missing 1.7 million rubles, along with interest, compensation for moral damages, and a fine.
The regional court reported that the plaintiff sought compensation for the stolen funds, interest for the unauthorized use of his money, 30,000 rubles for moral damages, and a fine.
The bank argued that the soldier himself had withdrawn the money. However, the court rejected the bank’s claim and sided with the soldier, declaring the transactions invalid. The court ordered the bank to return the missing 1.7 million rubles and pay an additional sum, bringing the total compensation to 2.8 million rubles.
