MMA fighter Islam Vagabov, 33, has been detained in the Vsevolozhsky district of the Leningrad region in connection with two separate criminal investigations.

Vagabov is suspected of hooliganism stemming from an incident on Evropeysky Prospekt in Kudrovo. Footage reportedly shows a man, identified as Vagabov, forcefully pushing aside four individuals and engaging in a physical altercation with one man, ultimately knocking him to the ground. A woman was also struck during the incident, falling to the ground twice after being hit.

The initial police response classified the incident as simple hooliganism. However, the Investigative Committee, under the direction of Alexander Bastrykin, later reclassified the charges to aggravated hooliganism due to resistance to a person preventing a violation of public order.

In addition to the hooliganism charges, Vagabov is also a suspect in a separate incident involving shots fired at a bus in April. The incident occurred near the Neva station in the Nevsky district of St. Petersburg. The shots were allegedly fired from a white Changan vehicle with license plates originating from the Novgorod region. Vagabov, a native of Makhachkala who previously competed in MMA under the moniker “Yakuza,” is a suspect in the shooting.
