Mikhail Efremov Allegedly Had an Affair While in Prison

Actor Mikhail Efremov, while serving his sentence, reportedly had a relationship with actress Daria Belousova. According to reports, Belousova visited Efremov in the penal colony, and they spent three days together.

The alleged affair occurred while Efremov was still legally married to his wife, Sofya Kruglikova, whom he wed in 2002 and with whom he has three children.

Prior to his imprisonment, Efremov and Belousova reportedly shared an apartment in Kazarmenny Lane. This apartment is said to be the location from where Efremov was taken for questioning following the fatal car accident he caused on June 9, 2020. Sources indicate that their relationship continued even after Efremov’s arrest, with Belousova visiting him in the colony shortly before his release.

During her visit, the couple allegedly stayed in a special block equipped with amenities such as a shower, kitchen, TV, and bed. A note with their paired autographs was reportedly left for their neighbors.

Daria Belousova, born on August 29, 1983, is the daughter of “Lenkom” actor Vladimir Belousov. She graduated from the M.S. Shchepkin Higher Theater School and joined the Sovremennik Theater. Belousova’s film credits include roles in “Zhiza,” “Otpechatki,” “Babki,” “Ischeznuvshaya,” “Khozyayka taigi,” and “Ottsy i deti,” among others.

In 2010, Belousova married Shamil Khamatov, the brother of actress Chulpan Khamatova, after meeting during a play. Their marriage ended after eight years.

Mikhail Efremov was involved in a car accident in central Moscow on June 9, 2020, where he collided with a van, resulting in the death of the van’s driver. Efremov was found to be intoxicated at the time of the accident.

He was initially sentenced to eight years in prison, which was later reduced to seven and a half years by the Moscow City Court. Efremov was granted parole on March 24, 2025, due to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
