Konstantin Zhidkikh has been sentenced to 11 years in a strict regime colony for the murder of his wife, Roza. The Novosibirsk court delivered the verdict on June 11, finding him guilty under Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
Zhidkikh is also ordered to pay one million rubles each in moral compensation to the victim’s mother and five children. The compensation aims to address the emotional distress caused by the crime.
The investigation revealed a history of abuse within the family. Roza had left Zhidkikh after 12 years of enduring emotional and physical violence. According to relatives, the family experienced constant relocation, and Roza bore the burden of both earning income and managing household responsibilities while Zhidkikh remained unemployed, allegedly due to health issues.
The murder occurred on April 14, 2024, in the village of Yarkovo, Novosibirsk region. Zhidkikh traveled to Roza’s location and fatally stabbed her, with their young children present in an adjacent room.
The verdict has not yet entered into legal force.
