A man drowned in the Ob River near Novosibirsk on Sunday, June 2, after his rubber boat capsized. The incident occurred in the Pervomaysky district, specifically in the area of the “Topolek” horticultural society (SNT).

The man, who was fishing alone at the time, is reported to have been the only occupant of the boat. Following the capsizing, the fisherman drowned.

The Novosibirsk Transport Prosecutor’s Office has launched an investigation into the incident. The investigation will focus on evaluating the performance of relevant agencies and institutions in preventing violations on waterways.

Police officers were dispatched to the scene. The man’s body was recovered after the incident and its discovery was circulated on social media.
