The MAKS (International Aviation and Space Salon) air show in Russia has been officially postponed until 2026. This announcement was made on June 3rd by Sergei Chemezov, the CEO of Rostec.
Chemezov informed reporters of the postponement, citing the current circumstances as the reason for the decision. The air show, which has been a biennial event since 1993, and of federal significance since 2005, was originally scheduled to take place in Zhukovsky, Moscow region.
The MAKS air show was previously postponed in July 2023, reportedly due to security concerns, marking the first cancellation in its 30-year history. The next show had been planned for mid-summer 2024, but it was also canceled.
