A major pile-up has resulted in a significant traffic jam stretching almost 5 kilometers on the northeastern section of the Saint Petersburg Ring Road (KAD). The incident has severely restricted traffic flow, with only one lane currently open to motorists.

The multi-vehicle accident occurred on the inner ring road of the KAD, in the vicinity of Murino. Eyewitness accounts and visual evidence indicate that at least four cars and a dump truck were involved. The dump truck was observed with its hazard lights activated, positioned in the center of the road. Reports from users of Yandex Maps suggest that as many as a dozen vehicles may have been caught up in the collision.

The resulting congestion on the inner ring of the KAD extends for approximately 5 kilometers, according to Yandex Traffic data. Traffic is also heavily impacted on the “Sortavala” highway, exacerbating the overall situation. The backlog on “Sortavala” stretches from Murino to the Novopriozerskoye highway exit.

Authorities are responding to the scene to assess the situation and manage the aftermath of the accident. A representative from the contractor, FKU Uprdor “North-West,” has been dispatched to the location. Details surrounding the cause of the accident are currently under investigation.
