“Lilac Promenade” Festival to be Held at Pavlovsk Museum-Reserve

The “Lilac Promenade” festival, also known as “Lilac of Victory” this year, will be held at the Pavlovsk Museum-Reserve on June 7th and 8th. Visitors can enjoy guided tours, lectures, musical performances, master classes, and lilac planting.

The festival commemorates the restoration of the museum after its liberation from fascist occupation. Excursions through Pavlovsk Park’s “lilac places” and an exhibition of archival photographs titled “Rebirth” will highlight this theme.

Military music will be performed by a brass band at the Grand Circles, inviting visitors to listen and dance.

Lilac collector Irina Sapozhkova will present lilac varieties named after Victory, heroes, and marshals of Victory at the “Aviary” pavilion each day at 3:00 PM. On June 7th, perfume historian Elina Arsenyeva will discuss iconic fragrances from the era, including “Wait for Me” and “Red Moscow,” at 1:30 PM, alongside a lecture on post-war fashion.

The planting of “Victory Day” and “Kolkhoznitsa” lilac bushes will occur on June 8th at 12:00 PM in the Private Garden and at 12:40 PM at the Sundial pedestal. These varieties honor the Great Victory and the home front workers.

The event is free with a park ticket; children under 16 are admitted free.
