A 17-year-old student tragically died after being struck by lightning in the village of Berezovo, near Kemerovo, on the evening of June 11th.

The incident occurred during a thunderstorm as the young man was walking home with friends. Lightning struck the ground nearby, causing him to immediately lose consciousness.

Eyewitnesses and paramedics attempted to revive the teenager. However, he passed away en route to the hospital.

Preliminary findings suggest that the cause of death was cardiac arrest.

The regional Investigative Committee is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the student’s death. A video circulating on social media allegedly captured the moment of the fatal lightning strike.
