Lenta has launched its first “Fresh Cafe” in Siberia, opening the establishment in Novosibirsk on Petukhova Street. The cafe is located within the Lenta hypermarket but outside the main shopping area.
The new “Fresh Cafe” spans 190 square meters and can accommodate 60 guests. Over 90% of the menu items are prepared on-site, offering customers a wide range of “street food” options.
The menu includes 75 items such as kebabs (starting at 149 rubles per 100 grams), burgers (from 299 rubles), hot dogs, and chicken wings. The company aims to provide a convenient dining option for shoppers, allowing them to save time and enjoy a meal in a comfortable setting.
Svetlana Shugurova, Business Unit Director of “Own Production” at Lenta, stated that the hypermarkets are evolving into community hubs where customers can shop, relax, and access various services.
Other major Russian retailers like “Pyaterochka” and “Magnit” are also expanding their public catering services within their stores. Unlike typical in-store cafes, “Fresh Cafe” is situated outside the shopping area, catering not only to hypermarket customers but also to other visitors.
Previously, Lenta partnered with “Chaynaya Lozhka” (Teaspoon) chain. Other retailers, such as “Auchan,” “Bystronom,” and “Dobryanka,” already offer in-store dining areas with limited seating.
