An 18-year-old Krasnoyarsk resident has been detained after shooting a 27-year-old man with an air rifle in the neck following a verbal altercation. The incident occurred on Karl Marx Street in the center of Krasnoyarsk on the night of May 24th.

The victim, a 27-year-old local, was visiting someone when he heard loud cursing from the street. He made a remark to the individual responsible, which led to a heated exchange.

During the argument, the 18-year-old suspect fired an air gun, hitting the 27-year-old in the neck. The victim independently sought medical attention for his injuries.

Police officers apprehended the 18-year-old attacker and confiscated the air rifle. Authorities are seeking to have the suspect taken into custody.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs is pursuing a case of attempted murder. If convicted, the attacker could face a maximum prison sentence of 11 years and 9 months.
