Vladislav Loginov, the Mayor of Krasnoyarsk, has been transferred to Moscow for further investigation after being detained on bribery charges. He is accused of receiving a bribe on an especially large scale, a crime under Part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
The Investigative Committee of Russia’s central office is handling the case. Loginov was detained on the morning of June 9, and the news was officially confirmed later that day.
The “United Russia” party has suspended Loginov from membership and removed him from the presidium of the regional political council, as is standard procedure for party members under investigation.
The question of who will temporarily replace Loginov remains open. Authorities have stated that a candidate will be selected soon.
A political scientist noted that finding a successor is now a key concern for Governor Kotyukov.
Sources close to the Krasnoyarsk administration say that Loginov seemed unaware of his impending arrest. He attended a concert with his wife the day before his detention.
The measure of restraint for Loginov has not yet been determined.
