Kikesharing Services to Block Drivers for Critical Violations

Kikesharing services are implementing a user rating system that will affect the permitted speed and conditions of electric scooter trips. The new system aims to incentivize safe driving behavior and penalize violations.

Users with a good rating, based on factors like trip history, absence of fines, and driving accuracy, will be allowed to travel at speeds up to 25 km/h, the maximum permitted by traffic rules. Conversely, those who commit critical violations will have their speed limited to 18–20 km/h.

Critical violations, such as underage driving, will result in users being blocked from the service. The rating system considers various factors, including the number of trips, experience, fines, accidents, warnings, driving and parking precision, and age verification through official identification methods.

Within Moscow’s Third Transport Ring (TTK) and the Moscow Ring Road (MKAD), the maximum speed will remain capped at 20 km/h, regardless of user rating. This restriction also applies to cities with an official speed limit of 20 km/h, such as St. Petersburg, Kazan, and Kaliningrad, as well as designated slow zones in pedestrian and hazardous areas.

Yandex.Go previously conducted a similar experiment involving speed reduction to 20 km/h at the start of the season and is analyzing the results to assess the impact on safety.
