Six individuals were detained by Moscow police following an incident at the Yaroslavsky railway station where a businessman and blogger was forced into a car.
The incident involved Areg Shchepikhin, who was allegedly forced into the trunk of a black Mercedes with flashing lights and official license plates before being driven away.
Prior to the event, Shchepikhin had published a video on social media criticizing a Chechen individual, their family, nationality, and religion.
Akhmed Dudaev, the Minister of Chechnya for National Policy, External Relations, Press, and Information, has denied reports of a kidnapping, stating that Shchepikhin was detained as part of an investigation into insulting the feelings of believers.
In other news, Russia is experiencing record-breaking temperatures, with the first five months of the year being the warmest in the history of meteorological observations.
The scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia, Roman Vilfand, noted that a week in April saw seven record values broken in the European part of Russia and that the last week of May was also unusually warm.
Vilfand predicts that this warming trend will continue, with an 80% probability that one of the next five years will be the warmest on Earth, surpassing the record set in 2024.
Additionally, Russia is developing a state messenger, as announced by the head of the Ministry of Digital Development, Maksut Shadaev.
The messenger will integrate a digital assistant to guide users on requirements for receiving services and submitting necessary documents.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has instructed that state and financial services be added to the domestic messenger platform.
