A woman accused of murdering her three children in Kansk has been moved from a Krasnoyarsk pre-trial detention center to Moscow for psychological and psychiatric evaluation. The Investigative Committee reported the transfer on June 4.
The accused will be placed in the Serbsky National Medical Research Center for Psychiatry and Narcology. The investigation indicates that the 29-year-old mother killed her four-year-old daughter and two sons, aged seven months and eight years, on April 14. One child survived the incident.
During questioning, the woman confessed to strangling her daughter and attacking her sons with an ax. She also admitted to placing the head of the seven-month-old boy in a sideboard. She pleaded guilty and was subsequently taken into custody by the court.
Authorities have stated that the woman was registered with a psychiatrist and offered minimal communication during interrogation.
Separately, on April 18, the woman’s 30-year-old husband was also detained and sent to a pre-trial detention center. He faces charges of torturing his seven-year-old son. He has stated that he agrees with the court’s decision and will not appeal his detention.
