June Weather Forecast in Russia from Meteorologist Alexander Shuvalov

Russia can expect a month of fluctuating temperatures and varied weather conditions across its regions. According to Alexander Shuvalov, head of the Meteo forecasting center, the beginning of summer will bring both heat waves and cold snaps to different parts of the country.

Central Russia will experience noticeable temperature swings. While the average monthly air temperature is expected to be slightly above normal, the region will see alternating periods of heat and cold. A heat wave is anticipated around June 9, with temperatures rising to +30…+32 degrees, followed by heavy rainfall and a temperature drop to +20…+23 degrees shortly after.

The southern regions will gradually heat up, with high atmospheric pressure dominating the weather in Crimea, the Kuban, the Stavropol Territory, and the Lower Volga region for the first ten days of June. Temperatures in the steppe part of the South are expected to reach +28…+33 degrees, while the coast will be cooler at +25…+29 degrees due to low water temperatures.

The Urals will also see temperature fluctuations. Moderately warm weather is expected to continue until June 7-8, with possible slight temperature variations mid-week. Temperatures are predicted to rise again to +25…+30 degrees by the weekend. The north of the Ural Federal District is expected to receive above-normal precipitation.

Siberia began summer with hot weather, but the heat will be short-lived. Temperatures in the Tomsk to Novosibirsk area are expected to remain within +25…+30 degrees until the end of the week, followed by a gradual decrease starting from the west. This change in weather will be accompanied by thunderstorms, with possible hail and squally winds in some areas. Southeastern Siberia will experience a cold snap later, with the Irkutsk region seeing a temperature decrease at the beginning of the following week.

The Far East, particularly the Primorsky and Khabarovsk Territories, and the Amur Region, will face inclement weather. Two cyclones are expected to bring prolonged rains and cooler temperatures, remaining within +12…+17 degrees. Yakutia will have varying conditions, with warm and dry weather in the center and temperatures reaching +21…+23 degrees in the west. Kamchatka will experience heavy rains due to a powerful cyclone around June 6, followed by a gradual transition to more summery weather.

Overall, the average monthly temperature is expected to be above normal in several regions, including the western Northwestern Federal District, the southwest of the Central Federal District, most of the Southern Federal District, the northeast of the Ural Federal District, most of the Siberian Federal District (excluding the southwestern regions), the west of Yakutia, and Transbaikalia.
