Ivan Chebanov, a Siberian native from Barnaul, was a special guest at the 7th NGS People’s Choice Award. Chebanov, who began performing on stage as a child, shared his experiences, from his early performances with Irina Allegrova to his current projects, in an interview.

Chebanov emphasized his strong connection to Siberia, stating that he always identifies himself as a Siberian from Altai. He cherishes the responsiveness and willingness of Siberian people to help and support each other.

His musical journey began in Barnaul at the age of 3.5, where he joined the “Caprice” song theater and gained early experiences and successes. He later performed on “Morning Star,” proudly representing his hometown.

One notable experience from his childhood was performing on stage with Irina Allegrova at a large concert in Moscow organized by Larisa Rubalskaya. Allegrova, impressed by his dancing, invited him to perform with her during her song “Hijacker” and carried him off stage at the end of the performance.

Chebanov also recalled his early DJ career, performing in Novosibirsk clubs through a collaboration with DJs from the Beats on Fire group. He appreciates Novosibirsk as a vibrant city that Barnaul residents enjoy visiting for entertainment.

He recounted his participation in the television project “STS Lights Up a Superstar,” where he gained recognition by performing an acrobatic stunt during his audition. This led to his move to Moscow and subsequent participation in projects like “The Voice” and “Bogatyr Games.”

Reflecting on his choice of Dima Bilan as his mentor on “The Voice,” Chebanov mentioned his successful exit from the show with the song “Devchonka, Devchonochka” and a memorable performance with Pelageya. He also playfully acknowledged the attention he receives from female fans.

Currently involved in producing activities, Chebanov mentors artists through initiatives like the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives and a school for artists. He is also launching a music company to work with promising students, balancing his producing career with his musical aspirations.

Chebanov is prioritizing his musical career, with plans for a musical social project called “Date, Dance, Love” aimed at creating opportunities for people to connect through creativity and music. He is also releasing a new album and expressed his desire to unite people romantically through his music.

He participated in the Seventh NGS People’s Choice Award because he enjoys touring in Siberia and was offered an interesting performance opportunity with an orchestra and choir.
