A “Gazelle” driver in Yekaterinburg had his iPhone stolen while delivering goods to a store. The theft, which occurred when a blue Opel Astra pulled up alongside his vehicle, was captured on surveillance video.

The victim reported that the Opel Astra followed his “Gazelle” for several blocks before the incident. The driver of the Opel approached the “Gazelle,” opened the door through the open window, and snatched the iPhone.

According to the victim’s grandmother, the stolen phone was an iPhone 16e, a recent birthday gift from friends and his girlfriend. He had only owned the smartphone for a month. The victim believes the thief was watching him, suggesting a premeditated act.

The “Gazelle” driver’s grandmother expressed dismay, noting her grandson’s honest nature and his assumption that others shared his values. The victim has filed a police report and authorities are currently reviewing the surveillance footage to identify the suspect.

This incident is not isolated, as Yekaterinburg has seen similar thefts. Previously, an iPhone was stolen from a businessman at a marketplace. Last summer, a girl stole an iPhone from a saleswoman.
